Timeless Hanna's Handmade wool accessories are crafted by hand in Veikkola, Kirkkonummi. With proper care, they can last for generations. This text offers tips and services to help you maintain your wool accessories.

Air Out or Freeze Your Wool Accessories

Hanna's Handmade wool accessories are made from Finnish wool, which is durable and natural. Wool is self-cleaning and repels dirt. Usually airing the accessory in fresh air is enough for maintenance. If airing is not sufficient, you can freeze the accessory in a sealed plastic bag for a couple of hours.

Hand Washing Wool

If your wool accessory has stains or becomes dirty, gently hand wash by swishing it in  lukewarm water (+30°C) with a mild detergent solution. Rinse and carefully squeeze out excess water. Always dry the wool accessory flat, for example, on a terry towel.

Repairing Wool Accessories

You may also send your Hanna's Handmade accessory to Hanna for washing. If your Hanna's Handmade wool accessory is damaged, it can often be repaired. Hanna offers a repair service if you wish to send your wool accessory for restoration.

Recycling Wool

When your Hanna's Handmade wool accessory reaches the end of its life or is no longer needed, you can send it to Hanna for recycling. As a thank you for recycling your accessory, you will receive a discount code for 20 % off a new full-priced Hanna's Handmade wool accessory. The discount code is valid for one year from the date of issue. Repaired and usable wool accessories will be refurbished for secondhand sale. Wool accessories retain their value well and are also sought after in various secondhand shops.

Composting

If your wool accessory can no longer be repaired or recycled, you can compost it. Wool is a pure natural product and leaves no harmful residue in the soil. In Finland, sheep wool is not routinely treated with pesticide sprays that are harmful to the environment. The Hanna's Handmade label on the accessory is not biodegradable and should be disposed of as mixed waste.
